South Africa was a doozy at times (sharks!), but mostly it was just a nice spot to chill out (whales!). Though I spent three full weeks there, I feel like I barely scratched the surface of what it has to offer. Cape Town, Hermanus and Gansbaii were all beautiful hosts full of surprises, and if the rest of the country is as rich in wildlife, scenery and friendly people, I look forward to a return trip to South Africa in the very near future.
My South Africa Highlights
1. Cage diving with Great White Sharks TWICE in Gansbaii with the White Shark Diving Co.
2. Dinner with F.W. de Klerk, former president of South Africa and Nobel Peace Prize recipient with Nelson Mandela
3. Road trip to the Cape of Good Hope
4. Wandering around Cape Town with an iPhone and Istagram
Check out my South Africa recap video with whales, sharks and some gorgeous sunsets on Camps Bay!
Accommodations in South Africa
Coming soon… Jordan, Israel & Europe!
I miss SA sooooo much, I can’t believe it’s been over 5 years now. I just HATE the long flight, otherwise I’d go once a year haha.
That flight is a doozy, for sure! I went from Cape Town to J’burg to Abu Dhabi to London… and I barely knew where I was after that!
It is hard to believe that it has been 3 years since I have been home.
Right now we are driving through parts of Central and South America that reminds me so much of home.
Thanks for the post!
Loved following along on your travels to South Africa, Angie! I haven’t made it to Africa just yet, but you’ve definitely inspired some spots to add to my bucket list.
