Back in the day when I had a real job, I communicated so much during the day that I barely had the strength to read Facebook at night, let alone a serious novel. Now that I have heaps more free time, I’ve accumulated quite the bill from Amazon purchases for my Kindle. Check out a list of books I’ve devoured so far:
- The Pursuit of God, A.W. Tozer
- Confederates in the Attic, Tony Horwitz
- Water for Elephants, Sare Gruen
- Get Out Of That Pit, Beth Moore
- Yoga for Christians, Susan Bordenkircher
- Pride & Prejudice, Jane Austen (AGAIN!)
- The Help, Kathryn Stockett
- The Girl Who Played With Fire, Stieg Larsson
- The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest, Stieg Larsson
- One Day, David Nicholls
- Around The World in 80 Days, Jules Verne
- The Life & Most Surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe, Daniel Defoe
- Bossypants, Tina Fey
I’m in the market for some new reads for the summer months. Any suggestions?
Great choices! Other recos: Hunger Games trilogy (Suzanne Collins). The Art of Racing in the Rain (Garth Stein). Haven’t read but recently purchased: Bittersweet (Shauna Niequist), Lunch in Paris (Elizabeth Bard). Miss you friend!
I have to put Hunger Games on the list for sure – everyone’s been telling me about it! Thanks, J!
Ohhh here are some good ones I’ve just read: American Wife: Curtis Sittenfeld (for a fictional but entertaining Laura Bush story). Wench: Dolen Perkins-Valdez (if you liked The Help). The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao: Junot Diaz (I was surprised but I liked it). Life of Pi: Yann Martel (for the world traveler in you). The Carrie Diaries: Candace Bushnell (because if you’re reading on the beach, it might as well be a pink book!) xo
Yes! I read American Wife & Life of Pi – will add the others to my list. We’ll see about the pink one =)
