A Review of Park MGM Spa & Salon, Las Vegas

Traveling to Las Vegas is always a blur of bright neon lights, glorious desert landscapes, pulsing party music and a collection of characters unlike anything you’ll find anywhere else. Spending time in Vegas is kind of like a very well-catered and comfortable fever dream made even more comfortable and exciting by staying at a great hotel. I recently spent some time at Park MGM Spa and Salon in Sin City, so I can give you the full run-down of what to expect and what I loved the most.

An Overview

The Park MGM is the hotel chain’s new take on a resort experience, so really it’s about more than just the rooms, restaurants, spa, and salon: you have to take the experience as a whole into consideration. The Park is located right in the center of the strip, so you have easy access to all the sightseeing and touristy types of things you could want to do. The resort still manages to have clean-smelling air, and an atmosphere that remains calm and reasonably quiet despite its proximity to downtown. The Park is a collaboration between MGM Resorts International and the Sydell Group, so it’s a bit unique as MGM Resorts go.

It’s hardly a secret that there are excellent entertainment, restaurant, and salon options all over Vegas, but the Park aims to make its guests part of its own little microcosm, and boy, do they get it right. It’s a well-curated resort complex that offers access to some of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to, nightlife for the party crowd, pools for catching a tan or getting in your daily swim, a 5,200-seat Dolby Live theater and more. There’s also direct access to the casino, which is a great place to take a chance with lady luck – after all, you’re in Las Vegas!

The Spa and Salon

Spas at MGM Resorts are typically really well-rounded with a lot to offer, but this one definitely takes the cake. When you’re in the salon, you feel none of the hectic buzz from the strip at all—it’s a chic and welcoming space that exudes calm. It’s a real retreat from the general busy-ness of Vegas! If you’re planning on a couples experience, this may not be the spot for you as the men’s and women’s sections are separate so that everyone can feel totally comfortable and relaxed throughout their spa day. One of my favorite parts was the sauna, where I really got to relax and enjoy the heat. There are hot tubs, massages, classic and signature facials and more.

The salon is equally lovely: a unique, triangular space that will help you get all glammed up for a night on the town. Sip a glass of rosé, scroll Pinterest for hairstyle inspo and choose a color for your gel mani because they’ve got the rest well covered.

The Rooms

One important thing to note is that there’s no smoking in any of the rooms, and that includes vapes. There’s a whole selection of rooms from the King (for a single traveler or couple) to rooms with a strip view, suites and the StayWell suites at the top of the ladder. There is also a collection of NoMad Las Vegas rooms in the Park, from classic kings to grand suites and even a dog-friendly option!

The MGM rooms have a unique color palette: clean white, an inviting forest green and pops of red. It manages to look contemporary rather than Christmassy thanks to the understated design and artwork, and it’s a nice change from the regular hotel beige. The NoMad suites are a bit more eclectic with pops of peacock blue and warm wooden floors.

The bedding is crisp and clean, the pillows are soft, and there’s plenty of space to relax after a day of sightseeing or a night of dancing.

Dining

If you don’t feel so inclined, you never have to leave the hotel to find a delicious meal. The selection of restaurants here is amazing, especially the Italian and Asian options! Bavette’s Steakhouse is a great spot to get a perfectly done steak, so that was certainly a favorite. Each restaurant in the Park and the connected NoMad has a unique character, exuberant and loud to something a little quieter and refined. The Primrose even has a lovely courtyard, so you can eat outdoors and enjoy the sun.

Pools

The pool complex is so beautiful and honestly one of the best hotel pool experiences I’ve had. There’s a real vibe in the area, helped along by the colorful murals on the walls and gorgeous flowering trees. Sage-green-and-white umbrellas and matching sunbeds provide shade and a pop of color, and palm trees sway overhead, giving the whole thing a tropical air that I just loved. Rent a cabana for a little extra privacy, order from the extensive menu of food and drinks and splash around in one of three pools.

Entertainment

What’s a girl to do with her time when she’s not dining on delicious food, getting her summer tan started, getting pampered or taking a nap? Well, she won’t be short of options, that’s for sure! The Dolby Live Theater is a beacon of entertainment, even in Vegas, hosting acts like Bruno Mars, New Kids on the Block, Lenny Kravitz, and even Motley Crue. There’s also a great comedy scene hosted by the MGM Park, so you can see comedians like Tom Segura and John Mulaney on a regular basis.

An Experience That Needs Repeating

Staying at the MGM Park is an amazing experience on its own and a great base of operations to see all of the other excitement that Vegas has to offer. Whether you’re traveling alone, with a partner, friends, or family, you’ll feel at home here, and you’ll definitely want to come back soon.
