5 Amazing American Adventures to get you out again

Do you love adventures, and you are looking for ways to get out again? The United States offers numerous adventures that are not only fun but also quite affordable. From hiking to biking to kayaking, there are enough adventure activities for everyone in America. Below are some five amazing American adventures that are bucket-list worthy.

Kayak the Maine Island Trail

The oldest recreational trail in America, the Main Island Trail, connects a considerable number of mainland sites and wild islands. A trip to the Maine Island Trail will help you experience the world’s best sea kayaking.  You can choose between a day visit and overnight camping in the vast recreational water trail. You will enjoy the beauty of the trail, which winds through hundreds of spruce-infested islands. An adventure through the trail will give you a close-range view of the hundreds of rocky ledges, the mainland sites, and the 3000 islands located off the Maine coast.

Since the water trail measures 375 miles, it would be good to plan short trips and explore sections of the trail that you deem best. If you are an experienced kayaker and have plenty of days, you can customize your trip to fit your preference. For instance, you can opt to stay on one island and explore the surrounding areas with day trips.

Cycle Around the Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is a National Park, and it offers several mountain bike friendly opportunities. This is especially true for the South Rim of Grand Canyon, which provides about 13 miles (21km) of Greenway Trails and roads to cycle. Cycling will allow you to have more intimate explorations along the stretch of the rim.

You can load your bicycle on the shuttle-buses when you get tired. You are allowed to cycle on both the paved and unpaved roads along the rim. This will surely be a fun moment of your adventure in the Grand Canyon. The Hermit Road provides 7 miles (11 km) is where cyclists can ride without worrying about traffic. This is because there are private vehicle restrictions put in place almost throughout the year. However, it is important to note that tour buses and shuttle use the same route, and therefore, you will be required to dismount and let them pass.

Other cycling adventure routes along the Grand Canyon include the South Kaibab Trailhead and the Yaki Point. The former offers shorter cycling opportunities, and you will still manage to get spectacular canyon views along the cycling trail. You will cycle up to the trailhead parking area, turn right and follow the trail road until you get to Yaki Point.

Cycling in this route is similar to that of Hermit Road because there are private vehicle restrictions to ease traffic. There are also tour buses and shuttle that use the route. Therefore, cyclists are required to dismount and give way to the buses.

Before you take on the cycling adventure, make sure that you have a specific sports holiday cycling insurance  to protect you. This insurance can protect you, your family, and the group against medical costs incurred as a result of cycling injury. It can also protect your bike and sports gear while providing coverage for missed flights, cancellation, and lost baggage.

Road Trip Around the Florida Coast

Believe it or not, Florida boasts of a long 1,800 miles of coastline. Depending on how long you intend to stay in Florida, you can customize your road trip and explore several destinations on the Florida Coast. You can include visiting St Augustine Beach, Fort George Island, Space Coast, Daytona Beach, Palm Beach, Miami Beach, and Key West.

A Florida coast road trip will offer you a spectacular view of the unsullied landscape. You will also enjoy the semitropical sun. You can follow any of the following routes: I-95 freeway, Hwy-A1A, or the historic US-1 route. We also recommend checking in into a luxurious Orlando villa for perfect relaxation. There are plenty of luxurious rental accommodation options that will not break the bank.

Hike the Salmon, Idaho

Hiking the Salmon, Idaho is another excellent adventure that you do not want to miss out on. If you are a nature lover, you will love the hiking trails that show a very different side of the Salmon.

Most of these hikes are on Idaho’s Main Salmon River, and 9 of the trails are in Salmon National Forest. Some of the trails in Salmon National Forest, Idaho include Mount Borah trail, Harbour Lake and Wilson Lake, Henry Creek Loop, Wagonhammer-Elk trail loop, and
many more.

Sail Lake Superior

Sailing in Lake Superior is full of terrifying moments and serenity. If you are willing to sail in this lake, you will have to endure the dangers of sailing in an untamed lake. The few brave people who sail in the lake acquire firsthand experience that is authentic and wild. You will experience moments of terror where you can see the lake as completely flat such that the stars are reflected in the water. However, you do not have to worry as long as you
have a good boat.

Sails in the lake are characterized by strong winds and steep ocean-like swells. The waves in the lake are very strong, making the boats roll wildly. However, for a daring adult sailor, this is a memorable experience. Although the experience in this lake is terrifying, it is absolutely safe and fun to sail in this lake. Therefore, if you are looking for an awesome adventure for your vacation in America, then this should be on your list.
