The week between Christmas and New Year’s is one of my favorites all year, and can you guess why? If you know me at all, you’ll know it’s because there’s so much excellent list-making going on, I can hardly stand it! I have a long-standing tradition of writing a million introspective pages in my journal this time of year, including a list of bulleted highlights by month. And now, as a travel blogger, I include a video highlight reel in that annual roundup, just for you!
I also love looking ahead. There are goals to be set and resolutions to be dreamed up. (Nevermind if some of them are the same as they’ve been for the past 10 years.) There something thrilling about having an entire year sprawled out before me like a blank canvas. I’m positively pinging with excitement! (Yeah, I’m Type A. It’s on my list of things to get checked out at my next doc visit…)
After wrapping up this year’s travel recap video, I glanced back at some of my travel resolutions for 2012 and I can’t help but laugh at how this year took me by surprise in a dozen ways. As I look ahead to 2013, I only have a faint inkling of what my travel plans will be. It’s disconcerting but also SO exciting!
