Sun, Sand & Sea with @IsabellesTravel

I’ve been to some amazing beaches this year, but that doesn’t mean my quest for the best has to come to an end. The search for the world’s best beaches is a lifelong journey, don’t you think? I asked the fabulous @IsabellesTravel to serve up a guest post to get all of us salivating for a beachy weekend… just in time for fall. Don’t worry, summer is right around the corner 😉

Take it away, Isabelle!

I love going to the beach, feeling the sand between my toes or jumping over waves. Yes, the beach makes me feel like a kid again. Building sandcastles, flying a kite, looking for shells on the beach, making long beach walks…these are just a few of the activities I enjoy most. I believe every beach is different, it can either be the sand or the color of the water or even the vibe of a beach destination that can determine why you like it or maybe dislike.

I`ve been to a few beaches around the world and I hold fond memories of these beach spots:

Bethany Beach, USA

Bethany Beach, USA

This little beach town on the East Coast captures the vision I have of American beach living. It`s a beach destination for American families to spend their Summer vacation. What I probably liked best here is the laid back atmosphere and let`s not forget the beautiful beach mansions!

Nanuya Lai Lai, Fiji

Nanuya Lai Lai, Fiji

It was always a dream of mine to go to Fiji and when I saw the opportunity to combine it with a trip to New Zealand for my 30th birthday, I jumped right at it. I made a luxury trip out of it with island hopping aboard a 3-day cruise and a relaxing stay at a beach front villa. Nanuya Lai Lai is like a postcard: crystal clear water, waving palms and soft white sand. It`s hard not to fall in love. This was definitely one of the best birthday gifts I gave myself. (It`s going to be hard to top this when I turn 40!)

Elbow Beach, Bermuda

Elbow Beach, Bermuda

Bermuda has an exotic ring to it and before I visited I wasn`t aware of how spectacular the shades of the water was out here. After my trip to Bermuda I can only recommend it if only to see the incredible turquoise colored water for yourself. It`s a pricey destination, but because it`s only a few hours from the East Coast you can easily make it into a weekend getaway.

Anna Maria Island Beach, USA

Anna Maria Island, USA

Another favorite of mine, you`ll find in the Sunshine State, Florida. I`ve done a road trip along Florida`s Gulf Coast and Anna Maria Island stood out for me. It has that same laid back vibe like Bethany Beach has going for it. I could easily adopt the beach lifestyle here with small boutiques, cozy restaurants, cute beach houses and let`s not forget the beaches.

Yallingup Reef, Western Australia

Western Australian Beaches

You can`t mention favorite beaches without including the beaches of Australia. Australia has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world (in my humble opinion) and I think the Western Australian beaches are overlooked sometimes. It`s very hard to pick just one beach in WA as there all stunning, but this is Yallingup Reef.

I know that my choices may change, but these beaches stood out for particular reasons. Where`s your favorite beach?

This post makes me missed going to the beach and the hot weather. It’s been raining here where I live and I really miss the sunshine.

I would personally add Portugal – Algarve 🙂
