What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas… Right?

It’s been three years since I’ve been to Las Vegas, so I guess you could say right now I’m on the wagon. But every time I see a movie like the Hangover or an ad for the town of glitzy showgirls and neon lights, I feel its gravitational pull just a little bit. It may just be time for another visit!

The thing is…. Vegas tends to bring out the crazy in just about anyone. Normally, I’m a very fiscally responsible person. I go to bed at a decent hour. I don’t usually wear sequins in my normal life. But take me out of Florida or my normal travel sphere and plonk me in the middle of the desert and I am ready to party ’til the break of dawn, y’all. Throwing money around like an NBA player on leave. It’s not healthy.

Surprisingly there are things to do in Vegas other than play poker... like blackjack. Craps. And the old faithful slots, which somehow never bring money my way but are usually big boons to my grandparents.

Aside from gambling though, there are world class shows, musicals and famous entertainers from yesteryear in residence at all the large resorts. Of course, there are 100000 iterations of Cirque de Soleil, none of which I’ve ever seen, that are top of the list for my return visit.

And for the traveler in me, of course I want to check out every hotel there is. On past trips, I’ve stayed at the Wynn, Luxor, Tropicana and the not-so-fabulous Circus Circus, but I’m keen to check out the Bellagio, the new Trump and the Aria on the next go. What’s your favorite place to stay in Las Vegas?

Have never been to Vegas and gambling doesn’t have a big pull on me but the shows really make me want to go.
In my past life as office admin I had to book a convention trip for a few people and had them stay at the Aria. They all loved it!

Have been to Vegas for the first time last year and to be honest: I’m glad I’ve seen it and know what it’s like, but I never need to visit again.
So crowded, so much noise, all the artificialness. It’s not that I didn’t have a good time and I am really glad I got to visit a lot of hotels, but another go? No, thanks:-)

My friends and I road tripped down to Las Vegas a few years ago. Before that trip Vegas didn’t interest me at all. I really just thought it was a place you went to gamble, but we decided to go after a coworker told us all the things you could do there, asides from gamble at the casinos. We had a blast, and while I wouldn’t rush back to Vegas right away I’d go back there again.
